20,000 steps in the heart of Istanbul

20,000 steps in the heart of Istanbul in one day.

I walked and walked around this beautiful city. One day was not enough to marvel at the sights and sounds of Istanbul.

Walking around Galata Towers, smelling the flowers in the Emirgan flower gardens, enjoying the baklava and mastic ice cream in Eminonu Grand Bazaar these memories have been etched on my mind like a photograph that will never fade.

The smell of chestnuts being roasted in a cart and the warmth of a cup of black tea in your hands as the biting cold of winter permeates the atmosphere made the experience unforgettable.

And in the middle of Istiklal street in Taksim Square, an array of music and dance performances for everyone makes it livelier till the early hours of dawn.

I didn’t expect to have a sensory overload in the month that I stayed and lived in Istanbul. This was the best holiday I ever had. It was unprecedented and unparalleled.
